My News
I wondered what it would be like to study online and be able to manage my time around other commitments in my daily life.
Would I have time for anything else which involved music, film, and any other interesting subjects that I wanted to learn more about?
All the inspiration that music listening and composing creates let alone writing about it all is time consuming, but I found that it was possible to increase my music skills and still have time for everything else.
After looking online I discovered the world of MOOC’s otherwise known as Massive Online Open Courses and they are absolutely brilliant because they are free and quite a few offer a certificate on completion of the course. You can study and become involved with really engaging subjects and become self-paced and also be free to do all the other things in your life.
I took my first MOOC in Summer 2015 with FutureLearn and earned my first certificate.
The MOOC is called Explore Filmmaking: From Script to Screen and hosted by FutureLearn.
Please read my in-depth review of the course on Class Central where I will be reviewing more online courses that I complete, especially in music related subjects.
What I learn about and my experience of the courses I hope will be very valuable reading for anyone who wants to learn more about studying and learning online.
I hope that if you decide to take any of the courses that I review, you will thoroughly enjoy the experience.
Here is a list of the best music Mooc’s on Class Central.
Who are Class Central?
“Class Central is an aggregator of MOOC course listings and continually looks for and bring you high-quality MOOCs from reputable providers (and not just from the major providers)”
I discovered them simply by browsing the internet and looking for music education online and free music courses.
I am looking forward to studying more courses and there are some exciting ones coming up involving music.
I will let you know how good they are.
